Write to the editors: corrections, questions, advertising
The form on this page reaches the editors directly, and so does email to info@ilovehalong.com. We read every message and reply by email when a reply is needed.
What to write to us about
Three kinds of message are most useful.
- Corrections. A fee, a route, a timetable, a pier or a rule that has changed. Travellers who have just been to the bay are often the first to know, and corrections are the messages we value most.
- Questions about a page. Something unclear, or a question a page should answer and does not. If several readers ask the same thing, the page needs rewriting.
- Advertising enquiries. Questions about advertising spaces on the site. Advertising is labelled and kept separate from the editorial text; it cannot buy a mention in it.
Email: info@ilovehalong.com. The form below sends the same message to the same editors, and it asks for the page you mean, which saves a round of emails.
For advertising enquiries, say what you would like to advertise, on which pages or sections, and for how long. We answer advertising messages separately from editorial ones, and the people who write the pages do not handle them.
What a useful correction includes
- Which page, and which sentence or table row?
- What did you find instead?
- When did you find it? Dates matter, because fees and rules change.
- How do you know? A link to an official notice, a photo of a ticket, or what happened at the pier.
You do not need to be certain. A report that a ferry left at a different time, or a cave was closed on a particular day, is useful even if we have to check it with other sources before changing the page.
What we cannot help with
- Booking or recommending a boat, a cabin, a tour or transport. The guide does not sell or arrange travel.
- Refunds or complaints about a trip you bought elsewhere. Contact the seller, and keep your receipt and ticket.
- Emergencies. If you are in difficulty on or near the water, contact local emergency services and your embassy.
- Today's sea conditions. Check local news and the boat you have booked.
If you are unsure whether your message fits, send it anyway. A question we cannot answer yet tells us what readers need.
How replies work
We reply by email to the address you give when a message needs an answer. Corrections are checked against a source before a page changes, which can take longer than a reply; once confirmed, the change shows on the page and in the corrections log on the about page.
We do not publish your name or your message. If a correction you send is used, the page credits a reader unless you ask to be named. The privacy page lists the fields the form collects and what happens to them.
Before you write
Look at the last-checked date under the section you are writing about. If the date is recent and your information is older, the page may already reflect the change. If the official source linked there says something different from the page, that is exactly the kind of report we want.
For questions about fees and routes on Ha Long Bay, the Ha Long Bay Management Board's website, halongbay.com.vn, publishes notices on fees and storm closures. Its notices are the primary source for the routes and fees page.
Common questions
Questions readers ask
How quickly do you reply?
We reply by email when a message needs an answer. Checking a correction against a source can take longer than the reply.
Can I phone the editors?
No phone line is published. Use the form or email info@ilovehalong.com.
Can you book a boat for me?
No. The guide does not sell or arrange travel and does not recommend boats.

Tell us which page you mean, what you found, and when. A link to an official notice or a photo of a ticket helps us check it quickly.
